OpenBacktest collects as little as it can run on. This page lists what we collect, why, where it goes, and how to get it deleted.
What we collect
- Email address. When you join the early-access list or create an account. Used to log you in and to send service email (receipts, important changes). We do not send marketing email unless you ask for it.
- Payment details. Handled entirely by our payment processor. We receive a customer reference, the card brand, and the last four digits, never the full card number.
- Strategies and backtest runs. The strategy definitions you create and the results they produce, stored so you can return to them.
- Technical data. IP address, browser type, and request logs, kept briefly by our hosting provider for security and abuse prevention. The early-access form records the country derived from your IP, not the IP itself.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or rent personal data.
- We do not run third-party advertising or tracking pixels.
- We do not connect to your brokerage account; the service has no trading permissions anywhere.
Cookies
We use a session cookie to keep you logged in. That is the only cookie we set ourselves. No consent banner is shown because no non-essential cookies are used; if that changes, this page and the site will change with it.
Who else sees your data
Only providers we need to run the service, each bound by their own privacy terms:
- Our hosting and edge network provider (site delivery, request logs, early-access list storage).
- Our payment processor (billing).
- Our transactional email provider (receipts and service notices).
We will disclose data if required by law or to protect the service from abuse.
Retention
Account data is kept while your account is open. When you close it, or ask us to, we delete your email, strategies, and runs within 30 days, except billing records we are required to keep for tax and accounting purposes. Early-access list entries are deleted on request at any time.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us what we hold about you, ask for a copy, correct it, or have it deleted. Residents of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and California have these rights by statute; we extend them to everyone. Email [email protected] from the address on the account and we will act within 30 days.
Children
The service is for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will email account holders before the change takes effect. The date at the top of this page is the current version.
Controller
The data controller is Velotech LLC, reachable at [email protected].
